The massive time gap?

Surely if you connect with someone via text or phone  it only takes a minute to reply?

So why then are so many people experiencing this strange time delay?

Your mum/relative gets you a number of a potential partner. They have spoken to the parents and the conversation is that the son/daughter will contact your son/daughter.

Or the initial text is sent in expectation and…. nothing.. so you send another text and this time you get a reply. So you reply back. A small conversation takes place and some details are exchanged.

A few different scenarios can play out:

  • Photos are exchanged and then it goes silent from one side… (Superficial thinking?)
  • Values are exchanged and one particular point is picked on and the decision is made – “sorry I don’t think we compatible” ?? (really and how do you know with outeven meeting or speaking?? hmmm)
  • Some strange excuse is made so no further  conversation??? (person is left in limbo wondering what is going on?)
  • You send a text and hear nothing… you send a few more and still nothing?
  • A conversation takes place and then one side stops responding
  • Values do not match
  • You completely do not get on
  • and I’m sure there are many more

But the worst and most time wasting scenario is when you just don’t get anything back, no reply.

Wheres the respect gone? Nowerdays simple things like respecting and valuing peoples time is not not even considered.

If you are not interested in a person for whatever reason be brave and at the least let them know. This way you can both move on. (For the strange ones who become borderline stalkers you should get the message, if they don’t replay they are not interested so leave them alone.)

You may not connect with someone right away, but be open because we are all human and may not always be on best form, give people the benefit of doubt and a chance at the least you can do is have a conversation over the phone and better still meet in person. (Its understandable when arranging a meetup do so in a crowded place for your own safety)

It seems at times the scenario can be linked to a thought  “I don’t want to hurt their feelings” and with this excuse they do whatever they can to avoid you.

The truth is show some respect and just be honest and clear AND GET BACK TO PEOPLE.  Don’t keep them hanging, wondering in limbo. Let them know, as it’s not about hurting someones feelings, its about open communication and respect.

Think about it you don’t like it when it happens to you, so why do it to others?

And on the flip side lets respect the decisions that are made. Value people and their time and others will do the same for you.
